Communications
It is very important for children to be taught the proper communications techniques when they answer the telephone. This is extremely important when the parents are not home and the child is left alone.
Learn how to answer the phone and ask the identity of the caller.
Never tell that caller that you are home alone.
Tell the caller that your parents are busy and take a number for the parents to call back!
Never give personal information to anyone on the phone.
The "ABC's of Dialing 911-
Give operator your address, name and telephone number.
Tell what is wrong with the person and identify the person.
Stay on the phone until told to hang up.
Try not to Panic.
